Get excited because Solbar’s stellar crew just opened a new tapas house and restaurant and we’re here to tell you more.
The Nautical is a new venue that focuses on local and seasonal produce and produce – dishes are sourced as locally as possible from neighboring farms and fisheries and all of their beers are sourced from breweries across the Sunshine Coast, which means we are already big fans. Even the cocktails feature locally distilled spirits, and the wine list includes heaps of Australian wines that you’ll want to sample ASAP.
The nautical menu is packed with hell-fresh food, including your signature oysters, shrimp, scallops, and mussels, but if you’re not into seafood, don’t worry: there are several mouthwatering burger options available, including including a Wagyu hamburger, sanga hanger (yes, that’s a sanga steak on rye toast with apple and pear chutney, served with truffle chips – yum!), or, for those of us who are meatless , a crispy tofu karaage burger tick all the delicious boxes.
If you want something light, you can enjoy zucchini blossoms, crisps, tofu bites, or grilled eggplant with miso frosting.
The decor of the place is obviously nautical inspired, but with a modern touch that gives it that young and energetic vibe that we expect from Solbar. Think white and navy mesh accents with colorful neon bar lighting, white tables and chairs, and lots of lush greenery to add to the ambiance.
And since this is technically a taphouse, you can certainly expect a nice range of local beers to quench your thirst, including beers from Your Mates Brewing, Brouhaha, Glasshouse Brewery, Eumundi Brewery and more. Click here for To book a table or check their website, stat.
