Downtown Marietta restaurants are gearing up for Marietta Main Street’s very first October feast, scheduled for Sunday through October 23. to win prizes worth over $ 600 using bingo cards.
Sixteen restaurants are participating in Octoberfeast, with a dozen offering special discounts, entrees and drinks for the occasion. With many small businesses still suffering the negative economic impacts of COVID-19, this effort is timed to keep restaurants running.
“Our small business community is strong and our downtown restaurants have endured and continue to endure, managing the health and safety of their staff along with that of the community while maintaining high standards of customer service,” of food preparation and warm and inviting atmospheres ” said Cristie Thomas, executive director of Marietta Main Street.
She said that despite staff shortages and the challenges of food costs and shipping delays, restaurateurs continue to think about keeping their doors open and providing the community with a food service they know and love.
Octoberfeast is coordinated by the Marietta Main Street Promotions Committee, made up of downtown business owners and community volunteers.
“We want to show our love and support for downtown restaurants in a way that allows our community to explore various local cuisines. Our bingo card format is a simple guide to some of the best dining options in town, ” said Morgan West, a member of the Main Street board of directors and chairman of the Main Street promotion committee.
She said they aimed to support the restaurant community in a safe and efficient manner despite the challenges of the past year.
“We hope Octoberfeast encourages our community to support restaurants owned by our own friends and family. This event is a great way to try new foods and to thank the employees who are the backbone of our downtown restaurant community. says West.
Diners are encouraged to use the Octoberfeast Bingo Card to guide their downtown restaurant week experience; By dining with four restaurants lined up on the menu plus one restaurant of their choice, attendees will have five dining experiences in total. Completed bingo cards can be redeemed at any participating restaurant and entered to win the grand prizes through event sponsors PrimeLending and Cinderelli’s Cleaning.
“PrimeLending is a national lender, but is operated locally by residents of (Mid Ohio Valley) who live, work, shop and enjoy life here in our small town. PrimeLending has been in Vienna since 2013 and resident at 104 Front St. in downtown Marietta since early 2019 ”, said David Houser, head of the PrimeLending area market. “We have had the privilege of serving so many families in Marietta and MOV with their mortgage financing needs and it seemed like a unique and fun way to say ‘thank you’ to everyone for placing your trust in our service. “

“As they say, a rising tide lifts all ships. We were excited to get involved and support Octoberfeast as soon as it came to our attention.
What a great way for all of us to get out there and enjoy each other and our local businesses who need our support now more than ever. And besides, who doesn’t like to eat and earn money and / or gifts? Houser said.
