Columbia Harbor House – a guest favorite quick-service restaurant at Walt Disney World Resort’s Magic Kingdom Park – has just reopened to diners after it closed due to the pandemic.

Now, it looks like the coastal-inspired restaurant is about to undergo some type of construction in the near future. Officials at Walt Disney World Resort recently filed two permits for the property – a for “General construction” and other to âProvide labor, material and / or electricity for constructionâ.

The first permit lists Smith, Broomfield & Howard Construction as a contractor, while the second names Buena Vista Construction Company, owned by the Walt Disney Company.

While descriptions on both permits are vague and could relate to minor alterations or a major renovation, it is clear that Columbia Harbor House will undergo construction work in the near future. Disney has not announced a closure for the restaurant, so it is not yet clear what the scale of the project will be.

from disney world official description of Columbia Harbor House reads as follows:
Wrap up fried fish, shrimp, chicken, lobster rolls, New England clam chowder, grilled salmon and salads. Kids can enjoy macaroni and cheese, chicken strips and more. Complete your meal with a cold drink from a fountain.

- A refillable drink cup at the resort *
