Disneyland’s Steakhouse 55 is definitely closing – Inside the Magic
Disneyland appears to be opening more restaurants at a breakneck pace, even bringing back a number of breakfast options to places that have been open for some time. Meal reservations at many restaurants filled up within minutes of their availability. However, there is one restaurant which will remain closed.
Steakhouse 55, an upscale restaurant located inside the Disneyland Hotel, is definitely closing its doors. Instagrammer Felipe Disney (@disneyland_ap_engineer) confirmed the news, accompanied by a short statement from Disney.

“At the moment, there are no plans to reopen Steakhouse 55 at the Disneyland hotel. We are exploring the options for this location and will keep you posted when we have any news to share.
Steakhouse 55 opened in 2006, having replaced what was once Granville’s Steak House, which had been at the location since 1983. Steakhouse 55 was known for its high end offerings including cold-water grilled lobster tail and garlic and herb crusted lamb chops.
Steak lovers will be delighted with the ample marbling of our premium beef, which guarantees exceptional flavor with every juicy bite. Dry Seasoned Boneless Rib Eye Steak is a specialty of Steakhouse 55, weighing 18 ounces. We also offer customer favorite cuts like 14oz New York Strip Tenderloin and 8oz Tenderloin.
Other appetizer choices include cold-water lobster tail, prime rib, pan-roasted Mary’s Farm half chicken, and king salmon with Moroccan spices. Add a final touch to any starter with Béarnaise sauce, “Steakhouse 55” butter or have it prepared Oscar style.
Mix and match à la carte accompaniments such as the “loaded” baked potato, sautéed green beans and truffle mac and cheese. The children’s menu includes a selection of healthy Disney Check meals.
To complement your dinner, our expert sommeliers can help guests 21 and over select the perfect wine. You may even have the opportunity to enter the wine cellar and taste several vintages, well done!
As of yet, Disneyland Resort officials have not commented on what will replace Steakhouse 55. In this writer’s opinion, the restaurant’s classic style lends itself perfectly to a restaurant like the Hollywood Brown Derby (Cobb’s Salad). ‘please !).
Due to the limited space available at Disneyland, it will be interesting to see how long the Disneyland Resort keeps this space empty and available.
